Check out our holiday plans with December 2025 in mind!
This holiday season, Lending Language Lab is releasing a light two-part English learning series inspired by winter movies. Hosted by Ro and Arnell, the lessons use fun activities—not spoilers—to help learners practice vocabulary, grammar, and natural expressions in a relaxed, festive way.
In this mini-lesson, Ro and Arnell use emojis as a playful tool for English learning. Learners practice understanding context, predicting meaning, and using grammar patterns for making guesses. Through phrases like “It looks like…,” “It might be…,” and “Maybe it means…”, students build confidence while enjoying familiar holiday themes. The visuals keep it simple, fun, and beginner-friendly.
The second mini-lesson focuses on short fill-in-the-blank phrases inspired by holiday movie dialogue. Instead of using real movie quotes, the activity teaches how grammar changes tone and meaning. Ro and Arnell guide learners through choosing the correct verbs or adjectives, understanding context clues, and recognizing how one small word can complete a sentence. Simple expressions like “Merry ___!” or “I can’t wait to ___!” help build everyday vocabulary in an approachable way.
To add a fun twist, Ro and Arnell introduce easy vocabulary for talking about behind-the-scenes surprises—what people often call “movie drama” or “tea.” This segment focuses on natural reaction phrases such as “Did you know…?”, “That’s surprising!”, and “I had no idea!”. It’s a gentle way to learn how to express curiosity and excitement without giving away anything from the upcoming videos.
Together, these mini lessons create a warm and beginner-friendly learning experience. They offer quick English practice, holiday-themed vocabulary, and a festive way to build speaking confidence—all while keeping things light and fun for winter.
LLL’s Holiday Movie Mini Lessons will be available soon on the Lending Language Lab YouTube channel. Follow us so you don’t miss the seasonal fun with Ro and Arnell!
